Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm nonfat milk (70-80 degrees)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 14 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1 12 teaspoons minced dried onion
  • 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
  • 14 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 12 teaspoons active dry yeast

Directions

    Put all of the ingredients into a bread machine (put in order that the bread machine tells you to).

    Let it mix for 5 minute and if wet add 1-2 T. flour, and if dry add 1 -2 T. water.

    When the cycle is done pour on to floured counter and punch down.

    Form into a loaf, place in pan, and let rise until doubled -- 45 minute or so.

    Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.

    Cool on wire rack, and brush with remaining (1 T.) butter.
