  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh oregano
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (28-ounce) can Italian-style tomatoes, undrained and chopped

Directions

    Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic; saute 1 minute. Add oregano and remaining ingredients. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat; cook 25 minutes or until reduced to 2 cups.

    Note: Sauce can be made ahead and kept covered in refrigerator up to 4 days.
