- 1 bunch young carrots
- 2 green onions
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1/4 tsp. savory
- 4 strips bacon
Directions

1Scrub carrots; cut in half lengthwise and crosswise.

2Cut onions, including tops, into 1-inch pieces.

3Melt butter in a saucepan.

4Add carrots, onions, water and herbs, plus a little salt and pepper.

5Cover and cook until tender, about 20 minutes. Cut bacon into 1-inch pieces; fry until crisp.

6Add to carrots just before serving.

7Serves 4.
