Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. dill
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. vegetable shortening
- 1/2 c. sharp shredded Cheddar or Swiss cheese
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, dill and salt. With a fork, cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse meal.

2Stir in shredded cheese.

3Add milk and stir just enough to hold dough together.

4Place on a lightly floured surface and knead lightly; roll 3/4-inch thick.

5Cut with floured biscuit cutter without turning the biscuit cutter (push straight down) and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

6Bake at 425° for 12 to 15 minutes or until as brown as desired.

8Twelve 2-inch biscuits.
