- 6 chicken breast halves (boneless)
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
- 3/4 c. Sauterne (white cooking wine)
- 1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
- 1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 2 Tbsp. minced bell peppers
- 1 tsp. thyme
Directions

1Lightly salt and pepper chicken.

2Brown slowly in butter using heavy skillet.

3Remove breast and arrange skin side up on baking dish.

4Add soup to skillet drippings and slowly stir in Sauterne. When smooth, add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.

5Pour sauce over chicken; cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.

6Serve with white rice (4 to 6 servings).
