1Sunflowers are a favorite snack for Russian people, as popcorn is for many Americans. A nutritious snack can be made by roasting 1 cup preferably organic hulled sunflower seeds in a skillet (use no oil).

2Take care to shake the skillet and stir constantly so as not to burn the seeds.

3Add 2 proportions of water to 1 of tamari* or soy sauce when the seeds are lightly brown, until fluid dries in skillet. Eat warm.
