- 1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease baking sheets.

3Combine flour, salt and baking soda.

4Beat together shortening, sugars and vanilla in large bowl until creamy.

5Add eggs; beat until light and fluffy.

6Gradually beat in flour mixture and rolled oats.

7Stir in chocolate chips.

8Drop on baking sheets; bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on sheets for short time; cool on wire rack for 2 minutes.
