  • onions, cut in small chunks
  • carrots, sliced crosswise
  • potatoes, cut in medium chunks
  • string beans (green), cut up or use frozen beans
  • all-purpose cream

Directions

    Layer these vegetables in the order listed in a kettle the size and amount of vegetables suitable for your family.

    On top, put 2 or 3 sticks of oleo and add enough water to see around vegetables.

    (You want it to cook down to a small amount). Cover and cook until almost tender; uncover to boil water way down.

    Add enough cream to cover well; stir carefully.

    Serve with hot biscuits!
