- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Prepare loaf pan by lightly greasing and coating with plain bread crumbs.

2Mix chopped dates with water and baking soda; let cool.

3Beat eggs; add sugar.

4Add date mixture; stir thoroughly. Gradually add flour, baking powder, salt and pecans.

5Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour.
