- 12 large eggs
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 qt. milk
- 2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- ground nutmeg
- 2 c. heavy or whipping cream
Directions

1Beat eggs, sugar and salt until blended.

2Gradually stir in 1 quart of milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

3Do not boil.

4Pour into a large bowl and stir in vanilla, 1 teaspoon nutmeg and remaining milk.

5Will be like a custard.

6Refrigerate until well chilled, approximately 3 hours.

7To serve, beat cream until soft peaks form.

8Fold whipped cream into custard mixture.

9Sprinkle with nutmeg.
