Holiday Pecan Pound Cake

- 1 c. solid shortening
- 6 eggs
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 c. finely chopped pecans
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Grease and flour a 10-inch tube or Bundt pan.

3In large mixer bowl, beat shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

4Add eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth. Meanwhile, sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.

5Add to sugar mixture alternately with sour cream and milk, beginning and ending with flour.

6Beat just until blended.

7Fold in pecans.

8Turn into prepared pan and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until done. Cool in pan 15 minutes.

9Then turn out on a wire rack and finish cooling.

10Pour glaze over cake and decorate with pecan halves.
