- 2 c. dry navy beans
- 1/4 lb. sliced fat salt pork
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 Tbsp. molasses
- 1 small onion
- 1/4 c. sugar (brown or white)
Directions

1Wash beans; cover with water and soak overnight.

2Next morning, cook slowly until skins burst or until just tender. Drain, reserving liquid.

3Place half the beans in the bean pot or casserole.

4Bury part of pork in the beans and half of combined remaining ingredients.

5Add remaining beans and seasonings.

6Place remaining salt pork over top.

7Cover with bean liquid and bake in 250° to 300° oven between 6 to 8 hours.

8Serves 6 to 8 people.
