- 2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Heat oven to 425 degrees.

2Sift flour, measure and add baking powder and salt. Sift again.

3Cut in shortening.

4Blend until mixture looks like coarse corn meal.

5Stir in enough milk to make soft dough.

6Turn dough out on light floured board.

7Knead lightly, about 1/2

8minute.

9Pat or roll out 1/2-inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter.

10Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.

11Bake in hot oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

12Makes 14 to 16 (2-inch) biscuits or makes 24 small ones.
