Ingredients
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 3/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. soft shortening
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 7 c. sifted flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Place water in mixing bowl and add yeast.

2Stir in 1 3/4 cups lukewarm water; add half of sifted flour, salt, sugar and shortening.

3Beat with spoon until smooth, batter falls from spoon in sheets.

4Using hands, mix in enough remaining flour until dough cleans bowl.

5Turn onto lightly floured board.

6Cover and let rest 15 minutes.

7Knead until smooth (about 10 minutes).

8Round up in greased bowl; bring greased side up.

9Let rise in warm place 1 hour or until double in size.

10Punch down and let rise 30 minutes more.
