Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 tsp. ginger
  • 1/8 c. oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 heaping tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 rounded tsp. baking powder
  • 3 to 3 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Mix together the sugar, eggs, oil, milk and salt.

    Sift together 3 times the nutmeg, cinnamon, baking powder, 3 cups flour and ginger.

    Gradually add dry sifted ingredients to liquid ingredients until blended, then add vanilla.

    Add a little flour at a time to dough to make it easy to handle.

    Roll out, cut and fry in shortening or oil at 340° in electric frying pan until brown.
