Homemade Kahlua

- 3-1/2 cups Sugar
- 2-1/2 cups Water
- 1 cup Instant Coffee Granules
- 2 cups 100 Proof Vodka
- 1 whole Vanilla Bean, Cut Into Fourths
Directions

1Put the sugar, water and instant coffee into a large saucepan and bring it to a boil then remove the pan from the heat. Stir to dissolve the coffee granules then set aside to cool. Add the vodka and the vanilla bean (all of it). Stir and pour into a gallon-sized container.

2Store this in your pantry or cupboard or anywhere at room temperature (but don't store it in the fridge) for 30 days. After 30 days, discard the vanilla bean and pour the mixture into bottles.

3Store at room temperature. Makes approximately 4 1/2 cups.

4This is always wonderful poured over vanilla ice cream. Oh, heaven help me!
