Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs. yeast
  • 1/2 cup very warm water
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 stick butter

Directions

    Combine yeast and warm water together.

    Set aside.

    Bring milk to a boil and set off burner.

    Add Crisco and sugar.

    Let this cool until luke warm.

    Add 3 cups flour then yeast mixture. Mix. Add egg.

    Add two more cups of flour and mix.

    Cover with damp towel and let rise for 45 minutes.

    Pour out and kneed until not sticky.

    Melt 1 stick butter in bread pan.

    Use this to flip rolls in.

    Let rise again until pan is full.

    Bake at 400 degrees until brown.
