Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 stick butter
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm (not hot) water
  • 1 egg
  • 4 1/4 c. plain flour
  • melted butter

Directions

    In small bowl mix sugar, salt, 1/3 stick butter and water. Stir to dissolve sugar.

    In large bowl sprinkle yeast in lukewarm water; stir to dissolve.

    Add to this egg and 1 cup of flour. Beat on medium speed until smooth.

    Add remaining flour slowly to make a soft dough. Cover and let stand 1 hour.

    Roll out the rolls, put in pan and pour melted butter over.

    Let rise for 2 hours.

    Bake at 400° for about 8 to 12 minutes.
