Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 pkg. fast active yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. softened lard
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • powdered sugar

Directions

    Combine first 3 ingredients; let stand 10 minutes.

    Add remaining water, sugar and 3 cups flour; mix for a couple of minutes, then add eggs, 3 1/2 cups flour and salt.

    Cover and let stand 20 minutes.

    Knead and place in a greased bowl; let rise until double.

    Shape into rolls.

    When double bake at 375° until brown.

    This is good for cinnamon rolls too.
