- 5 lb. flour
- 1/4 c. yeast
- 2 1/4 Tbsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 pt. shortening
- 1 qt. plus 1 c. warm milk
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
Directions

1Put 1/3 cup of sugar in the yeast, then add to the warm milk and set aside for about 5 minutes.

2Mix the rest of the dry ingredients together, then add shortening and egg; mix well.

3Add the milk mixture a little at a time until the dough pulls away from the bowl.

4Put a little melted butter on top of the dough.
