Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. diced green pepper
  • 1 c. tomato puree
  • 1 c. whole peeled tomatoes (16 oz.)
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans chili beans
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. chili powder to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c. mild flavored honey

Directions

    In large deep pan, cook meat until it loses its red color. Drain off excess fat.

    Add next eight ingredients.

    Mix well. Bring to boil.

    Cover and simmer 1 hour stirring occasionally. Stir in vinegar and honey.

    Serves 6 to 8.
