- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. honey
- 2 1/4 c. wheat flour
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 to 3 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.

2Stir in honey and let set about 10 minutes.

3Add wheat flour, shortening and salt to yeast mixture.

4Beat until smooth.

5Stir in enough all-purpose flour to make dough easy to handle.

6Turn

7out on lightly floured surface.

8Knead until smooth and elastic, 5 to 10 minutes.

9Place dough in greased bowl.

10Turn once to grease top.

11Cover with cloth and place in warm place until double, 20 minutes. Punch down, divide in half.

12Shape into loaves and let rise again, about 40 minutes.

13Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°.
