- 5 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 cubes fresh yeast
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- poppy seed
Directions

1In large bowl, crumble margarine with 5 cups flour (reserve 1/2 cup for rolling dough), sugar and salt.

2Heat milk to lukewarm; dissolve yeast in milk and add to dry ingredients.

3Mix well; cover with towel and let rise 20 minutes.

4Turn out on floured board.

5Start with 1/4 of the dough, using rolling pin and shape into a circle 1/4-inch thick.

6Divide into eighths and shape into crescents.

7Brush with egg and sprinkle with poppy seed.

8Let rise 15 to 20 minutes.

9Bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes.

10Makes 32 crescents.
