Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 lb. margarine, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. raisins

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Make a well of flour, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl.

    In center, add beaten eggs, yeast mixture and milk.

    Gradually incorporate dry into wet ingredients until dough forms.

    Knead in the margarine.

    Knead well in bowl. Cover and let rise 2 1/2 hours.

    Punch down gently.

    Cut into 12 pieces.

    Arrange in well greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Cover and let rise until doubled.

    Bake at 425° for 15 minutes and at 375° for 20 minutes.
