Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. chuck steak, cut into 1-inch cubes and tossed in seasoned flour
- 2 oz. fat or oil
- 2 oz. mushrooms
- 2 medium size onions, sliced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 level Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 pt. beef broth
Directions

1Heat oil in skillet and brown meat all over.

2Put in oven-safe pan.

3Brown vegetables in skillet.

4Add to meat along with mushrooms and garlic.

5Sprinkle the flour over any fat or juices in the pan.

6Stir and cook before gradually adding the stock.

7Bring to a boil.

8Season well and pour over meat.

9Cover and cook in oven slowly at 325° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

10Thicken gravy, if necessary, before serving.

11Good served over rice or noodles.
