- 1/8 c. hot water
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 5 c. flour
- 1 1/3 c. warm water
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- extra flour
- coarse kosher salt
- baking soda
Directions

1Heat oven to 475°.

2Grease cookie sheet.

3In a large bowl, mix the hot water and yeast.

4Add water (warm) and sugar slowly.

5Add 5 cups flour.

6Stir until smooth (not sticking to sides); knead it.

7Form dough into golf ball size balls and shape each into pretzels.

8Fill a frying pan with water.

9For each cup of water used, add 1 tablespoon baking soda.

10Place pretzels in gently boiling water for 30 seconds.

11Take out of the water and place on cookie sheet.

12Salt pretzels.

13Bake for 8 minutes until golden brown.

14Can be frozen before baking.
