Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. mashed potatoes, plain
  • 2 Tbsp. softened shortening
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 7 c. flour

Directions

    Bring water and milk to a boiling point, then let cool.

    Mix yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.

    Add sugar, salt and potatoes to the cooled water and milk mixture.

    Add yeast to mixture.

    Knead well. Put into large bowl, let rise until doubled in size then make into rolls.

    Let rise again until doubled in size, then bake in oven at 350° for 40 minutes.
