- 1 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. shortening
- 5 Tbsp. sugar
- flour (5 to 6 c.)
Directions

1Mix warm water, 1 teaspoon sugar and yeast together.

2Add remaining ingredients and enough flour to make soft dough (5 to 6 cups).

3Let rise and roll out.

4Cut rolls and let rise again. Bake on a greased sheet pan.

5Leave in a 250° oven for 10 minutes and then raise temperature to 350° for 30 minutes or until brown.
