Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. hot mashed potato
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 yeast packets
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 beaten eggs

Directions

    Mix the first 5 ingredients.

    Mix and let stand until warm the yeast packets, flour, warm water and eggs.

    Add to first mixture and beat.

    Cover and let stand 1 hour.

    Add 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour. Knead until smooth (leave dough moist; will feel slightly sticky). Put in buttered bowl and butter top of mixture.

    Let stand in refrigerator at least 1 1/2 hours.

    (Roll out dough; cut and fold over.

    Brush with melted butter.

    Cover and let rise 2 hours.) Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes.
