- whole tomatoes
- 1/2 onion, cut in quarters
- salt to taste
- 1/4 c. sugar
- hot chili peppers
- 2 qt. tomato puree
Directions

1Place whole tomatoes, onion, salt, sugar and at least 3 hot peppers in a blender and chop well.

2Pour mixture into a large saucepan.

3Add tomato puree.

4Simmer on stove for several hours or until desired thickness, stirring occasionally.

5Pour into hot pint jars.

6A whole hot pepper can be added for extra flavoring to pint jar before sealing.

7Place in hot water bath for 10 minutes. Will keep on shelf for years.
