- 2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
- milk
- 3 c. boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Stir cornmeal into boiling water in medium saucepan.

2Add shortening and enough milk to make a stiff batter.

3Form into small 1/2-inch thick cakes.

4Fry on hot greased griddle.
