Ingredients
- 2 cans sauerkraut
- 1 (12 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
- 6 strips bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
- 4 lb. beef stew meat or cubed venison
- 1 pkg. onion soup mix
- 2 cans beef gravy
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. whiskey
- 1 c. hot water
Directions

1Drain sauerkraut and place in a saucepan.

2Add mushrooms (undrained) and simmer 20 minutes. Fry the bacon until crisp and remove from pan.

3Brown meat in bacon drippings.

4Drain.

5In a large casserole, place meat, sauerkraut mixture and crumbled bacon.

6Mix rest of ingredients together and pour over.

7Cover and bake for 2 hours at 325°.
