- 1 1/2 c. All purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 4 Tbsp. Butter flavor crisco, cold
- 4 Tbsp. Butter, cold
- 1/3 -/+ c. Water, cold
Directions

1Add the 1/4 tsp. salt to the flour, then in a large bowl cut the crisco and butter into the flour until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.

2Using a knife stir the water into the flour mixture a little at a time until it starts to come together.

3Then, using your hand, press the dough together.

4It should not be wet or sticky, but should feel soft and not tough.

5A good pastry dough should leave the sides of the bowl clean.

6Roll out onto a floured board to about 1/4-inch thick, line a 9-inch flan tin, then line with greaseproof paper.

7Pour in dried beans or rice, to stop the pastry from rising.

8Bake at 375°f. 190°c. gas mark 5 for 20 minutes.

9When cooked remove the beans from the crust.
