Ingredients

  • 2 qt. milk
  • 2 large cans Pet milk
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 6 whole eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • lump of butter
  • 1/2 c. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

    Place all milk in a heavy pan on the fire.

    When milk is warm, add eggs and sugar.

    After they have been beaten really good, dissolve cornstarch in a bowl with some of the cold milk mixture. Then add this to milk and egg mixture.

    Stirring all the time, add salt and butter.

    Cook until near boiling.

    Stir continually.

    Add vanilla extract.

    Fruits may be added.

    Place in icebox the night before.

    Use a hand freezer.

    Add fruits the next day.

    Makes a big gallon.
