  • 3 stalks of dill each jar
  • 1 Tbsp. mixed spices
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. white vinegar
  • 1/4 c. salt
  • alum (size of a thimble)
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed

Directions

    Slice cucumbers into lengthwise pieces.

    Place about 3 stalks dill in bottom of jar.
  3. 3
    Fill jar with sliced pickles, standing upright.
  4. 4
    Boil all ingredients.

    Cool and pour over pickles in jars.
  6. 6
    Add 3 small red peppers to each jar before closing.
