Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    Sift soda and salt with flour.

    Mix firm butter and flour together until it looks like crumbs.

    Add brown sugar, then nuts. Beat eggs together until light; mix into the dough which will be rather firm.

    Knead until smooth, then make into the size roll desired.

    Wrap in waxed paper; place in refrigerator overnight or until thoroughly chilled.

    Slice cookies very thin; place on greased baking sheet and bake at 350° until light brown, approximately 12 minutes.

    This dough will keep for several days. Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.

    Keep in tightly covered container.
