- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt, added to buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda, added to buttermilk
- 4 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. orange rind
- juice of 1/2 orange
Directions

1Cream sugar and butter.

2Add whole eggs, one at a time, and beat after each.

3Add half of flour and buttermilk.

4Beat for one minute.

5Add remaining flour and buttermilk and the flavoring. Beat 2 minutes more.

6Bake in tube pan for 1 hour at 350°. Toothpick test when done.
