  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg and mix well. Add vanilla and flour in which has been sifted the baking powder and salt. Lastly, add the chopped nuts. Divide into two equal parts and make each into a 1 1/2-inch roll. Roll each in waxed paper and put in icebox overnight. Cut in 1/8-inch slices and bake at 325° for about 10 minutes.
