  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. butter or shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 1/2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

    Mix sugars.

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Beat eggs in a bowl and add to the sugar mixture.

    Mix dry ingredients and add to the mixture with the milk.

    Chill until ready to use.

    Take small chilled balls and mash on a cookie sheet.

    Add nuts, chocolate chips, raisins, anything you want.

    Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Keeps in refrigerator for several weeks.
