- 1 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. thick dark molasses
- 4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. ginger
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add molasses, flour, cinnamon, ginger and allspice.

2Dissolve soda in buttermilk.

3Add alternately with flour to first ingredients.

4Add raisins, chopped nuts and vanilla.

5Bake at 375° for 15 minutes in greased and floured muffin pan.

6This dough may be kept covered in icebox for several days and cooked as desired, a few muffins at a time.
