Icebox Rolls(Soft Dinner Rolls)

- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Cream the shortening with sugar.

4Beat in egg.

5Add yeast mixture to egg mixture and beat well.

6(This will not seem to work but the ingredients do not need to combine completely.)

7Add salt and flour.

8Stir with wooden spoon until a smooth dough is formed. Knead for a few minutes.

9Grease surface of dough with some melted shortening.

10Cover tightly and refrigerate.

11When ready to use (within 3 days), pull off golf ball size pieces.

12Roll in balls; let rise 1 1/2 hours.

13Bake 12 at a time on greased cookie sheet for 15 minutes.
