Ingredients

  • 1 c. white vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. salt

Directions

    Bring the first 3 ingredients to a boil and boil for 1 minute, then cool.

    While cooling, chop vegetables.

    Sprinkle salt over vegetable mixture and let stand 1 hour.

    Pour the cool liquid over the vegetable mixture and place in jars or containers.

    Can be eaten at once or is delicious frozen before serving.
