Ingredients
- 3 lb. (4-inch) cucumbers
- 6 small onions, peeled and quartered
- 6 (4-inch) pieces celery or 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed (1/4 tsp. to each jar)
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 qt. white vinegar
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. salt
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Wash cukes and cut lengthwise into fourths or eighths.

2Soak in ice water for 3 hours.

3Then drain and pack in pint size jars. Add onions, celery and 1/2 teaspoon of mustard seed to each jar. Combine vinegar, sugar, salt and water.

4Bring to a boil and pour over cukes to within 1/2-inch of the top.

5Seal and process in boiling water for 10 minutes.

6Very crisp and delicious.

7Makes 6 pints.
