  • 1-1/2 cup Hot Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Instant Yeast
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3-1/2 cups To 4 1/2 Cups Flour, Or More As Needed

  • FOR THE GLAZE:
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
  • 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons Dill Weed
  • 1/8 teaspoons Italian Seasoning

Directions

    Combine water, sugar, salt, yeast, oil, and enough flour to make a soft dough. (You may need more than 3 1/2 cups.) Knead for 3-4 minutes. On a greased counter, break off pieces of dough and roll into thin ropes that are about 1 1/2 times the length of your skewers. Twist the rope around the skewer and place on a greased cookie sheet. Repeat till all dough is used. Let twists rise till doubled, about 30 minutes.

    While they are baking, combine the glaze ingredients and let site while the bread twists bake so the flavors will blend. Bake twists at 375F for about 12-15 minutes or till golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with the butter glaze. Try not to drool.
