  • 1 lb pecan halves
  • 14 cup butter
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt

    Preheat oven to 275.

    Toast pecans for 10 minutes.

    Let cool while making the coating.

    Raise temperature to 325.

    Whip egg whites until they form stiff peaks.

    Fold in sugar, cinnamon, salt and pecans.

    Melt butter on cookie sheet in oven.

    Spread coated pecans onto cookie sheet.

    Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
