- 4 c. flour
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. corn meal
- 1/2 c. wheat flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water.

2Mix flour, sugar and corn meal together.

3Add yeast and enough water to make a sticky dough.

4Drop by teaspoons into hot lard (deep fat fry).

5Fry until crispy brown on both sides.

6Remove to a paper towel covered pan.

7Serve with butter and maple syrup or peanut butter or jelly.

8Also good with ham and eggs or tomato gravy.
