Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. cake flour (self-rising)
  • 75 g. margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 75 g. sultanas (raisins may be used)
  • 1 egg
  • milk
  • pinch of salt
  • few cherries (if desired)

Directions

    Rub margarine into flour and salt.

    Add sugar and sultanas. Add beaten egg.

    Mix into a soft dough with milk.
  4. 4
    Bake in a greased loaf tin for 30 minutes.

    Set oven temperature at 475° or gas mark 7.
