Ingredients
- 1 c. flour (white)
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. oleo or butter
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/4 c. rolled oats
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. molasses
Directions

1Combine white flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

2Cut in butter until it is small pieces.

3Stir in wheat flour and rolled oats.

4Make a well in the center; add buttermilk and molasses.

5Stir until thoroughly moistened.

6Gather into a ball and place on a floured board.

7Knead 5 times and shape into ball.

8Pat into a circle.
-
9Using a sharp knife, make a cross on top to allow expansion.

10Place on slightly greased baking sheet.

11Bake at 375° for 40 minutes.

12Loaf should be brown and sound hollow.

13Brush bread with melted butter.

14Makes 1 loaf.
