  • 1 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. oatmeal
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. hot water

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Mix in oatmeal.

    Sift flour and salt, adding to creamed mixture alternately with baking soda dissolved in the half cup of hot water.

    Roll thin, cut and bake at 350° for 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
