  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 5 eggs (separated), beat egg whites and set aside

Directions

    Mix flour and baking powder and set aside.

    Cream sugar and butter.

    Add yolks and beat until fluffy.

    Mix flour with sugar mixture and milk alternately.

    Add vanilla and fold in beaten egg whites. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
